At London South Bank University, we’re looking for an enthusiastic Residential Community Coordinator to lead our Residential Life Programme and bring our students’ halls of residence to life. As part of the ‘Thrive’ Residential Wellbeing Team, this dynamic role blends inclusive community-building with creativity, as you’ll also take the lead on social media and marketing for the department.
This Student Services department provides advice and support for students on a wide range of non-academic and educational needs, and aims to enable all students to achieve their potential while studying, by providing an approachable and reliable service that students can trust. Services provided include accommodation advice covering disabilities and dyslexia; employment and careers; financial advice; international students; mental health, and wellbeing.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Building Community: Develop and deliver activities that help students transition to university life and foster a supportive, inclusive environment for everyone.
Inspiring a Team: Lead and support our team of Residential Community Ambassadors, guiding them as they create engaging events and initiatives for their peers.
Running the Show: Organise a variety of activities, from welcome week events and wellbeing workshops to cultural celebrations and social mixers.
Spreading the Word: Take the lead on social media and marketing, ensuring students know about the amazing opportunities and support available to them.
What We’re Looking For:
A people person with a talent for building relationships and inspiring teams.
Experience in leading events or activities, ideally within a student or community setting.
A passion for inclusivity, creating spaces where everyone belongs.
Strong organisational and creative skills to juggle event planning, team leadership, and social media management.
Comfortable working flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when needed.
