About the Role

The Evolve programme aims to provide the University with stable and highly available IT services that enable our current and future needs and is fundamental to ensuring we have the right technology in place to support future capabilities and will provide the foundations for further strategic change

We are looking for an experienced IT Project Manager to lead the migration of our legacy integration systems to a modern platform. This high-impact role will involve engaging with key business stakeholders, technical teams, and external partners to ensure a seamless transition that supports our organisation's future ambitions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage stakeholders, and ensure the project is delivered on time, within scope, and within budget while maintaining the highest standards of security and compliance

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a comprehensive project plan to migrate legacy integrations to the new platform, ensuring alignment with business goals and timelines.
  • Engage with business stakeholders to gather requirements, address concerns, and ensure the new platform meets organizational needs.
  • Oversee the mapping and migration of existing integrations, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, including technical experts, vendors, and business representatives, to deliver on project objectives.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with the migration, maintaining a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational standards, policies, and any relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee user training, change management initiatives, and post-migration support to ensure adoption and smooth operations.
  • Lead the project board and provide regular progress updates to senior leadership and key stakeholders, managing expectations effectively.

Skills and experience

  • Proven experience as an IT Project Manager leading system migrations, preferably in integration platforms or similar IT projects aligned to the Software delivery lifecycle
  • Strong understanding of integration technologies, middleware platforms, and APIs.
  • Experience of applying project best practices and change management methodologies across the integration transition lifecycle
  • Able to take a pragmatic adaptable approach to planning
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Solid organisational skills, including attention to detail and multitasking capabilities.
  • Ability to manage budgets, timelines, and project resources effectively.
  • Relevant certifications such as ITIL v3 or v4 accreditation (foundation or better), PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile (e.g., CSM) are a plus
