Leeds Trinity University is renowned for teaching excellence and producing highly employable graduates. Rooted in our Catholic foundation, we are a diverse and inclusive University welcoming students from all backgrounds and beliefs.
We exist to provide a transformational educational experience and pioneered the inclusion of professional work placements into every undergraduate degree programme. We work with thousands of businesses annually to offer our students degree-relevant industry experience. We are committed to delivering outstanding teaching led by research, scholarship and practice, which has earned us national acclaim for the quality of our offer. Our teaching staff have extensive professional experience in their fields and many are active researchers, contributing to our increasing reputation for research excellence.
The role of University Secretary and Registrar is brand new to the University and is designed to bring together, for the first time, all aspects of governance, registry and student services. It reflects our desire to respond rapidly and effectively to a dynamic external policy environment. The postholder will have a dual reporting line, to the Vice-Chancellor and Chair of the Board of Governors, and will play a key role on our newly refreshed Executive Team. They will develop and drive a modern, joined up approach to our governance, risk management and quality assurance frameworks and processes as well as leading a broad swathe of student-facing professional service functions.
The successful candidate will bring significant leadership experience and a proven track record of leading transformation. They will have an in-depth knowledge of the UK higher education sector and combine excellent judgement, communication skills, and high levels of emotional intelligence with a strong grip of quality assurance metrics and performance data. They will be comfortable advising boards, influencing senior stakeholders and stimulating and challenging thinking. Above all, they will be committed to our distinctive mission, values and ethos; supporting our ambitions for academic excellence, high quality delivery and future sustainability.
