The University of Cambridge is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join its team as a Research Programme and Policy Coordinator - Herchel Smith Fund.
The University of Cambridge is a world-leading centre of research and teaching, and receives funding from a variety of sources including governmental, charitable, and commercial, as well as sizeable bequests from organisations and individuals.
The role-holder will coordinate the efficient running of the Herchel Smith Endowment, working with senior academic and administrative staff to manage the programmes, raise awareness and organise events, including the annual Herchel Smith Symposium with Harvard University. The post will also administer selection processes, manage the appointment of new Fellows and students, and develop the community of Herchel Smith funded researchers and students.
The role-holder will also support the Research Policy, Governance and Integrity team' wider research policy activities, including planning, coordinating and managing ad-hoc short term projects.
The role provides an excellent opportunity to develop a career in the area of research administration, and will offer the post-holder the opportunity to work with a variety of stakeholders both internal and external to the University.
You will be able to demonstrate excellent numeracy, communications and organisational skills and a positive, self-motivated approach. You will also have strong analysis and reporting skills, and demonstrate the ability to interpret data. Proficiency in using Windows based packages is essential, and knowledge of project coordination would be advantageous.
