The role
We are seeking an Events Officer to work within our high-performing and ambitious team of Advancement professionals. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in achieving Advancement targets, working to create a bespoke programme of activity to engage alumni and donors. This role will be responsible for the operational delivery of an exciting programme of events including (but not limited to):
These events are hosted in the UK and worldwide and there may be an occasional requirement to travel.
About you
This is a busy role for a motivated individual with an eye for detail. The successful candidate will have proven experience of running events from concept to evaluation and will have excellent communication skills enabling them to build strong relationships with colleagues from across the organisation. The ability to be reactive and flexible is a must, as the work of the Advancement Team is fast-paced and ever-changing.
Within Advancement, this role sits in the Alumni and Supporter Engagement team and reports to the Alumni Relations Manager.
The role of the Advancement team is to build and maintain connections with our Alumni and to help secure philanthropic support for the University. We are responsible for sustaining a lifelong relationship with our global alumni community of over 148,000+ graduates in 184 countries and raising funds to support students and the University's research and teaching activities. We operate a busy events programme in the UK and overseas, including events in the US, China and South East Asia, the Middle East, Africa and beyond.
