The department of Architecture are seeking to recruit two full time, 1 FTE (i.e. 5 days per week) post-doctoral research associates, for a 24 month fixed period into the Urbanism & Coastal Heritage Lab (UCH-Lab) at the Architecture Heritage and Urbanism of West Africa Research Centre in the School of Architecture at University of Liverpool.
The Project is a collaboration between the Liverpool School of Architecture and Institute of African and Diaspora Studies at the University of Lagos. The Principal Investigator is Professor Taibat Lawanson, and the Co-Investigator is Professor Ola Uduku.
You should have a strong commitment to the implementation of spatial justice and the SDGs, and the inclusion of local actors in coastal urban design and governance. You will contribute to the intellectual life of AHUWA centre. You will be expected to carry out small/short independent research projects relevant to the UCH-Lab.
This will include a 3-6 months research stay in Lagos/ West African site.

You should have a PhD or equivalent in Architecture, Architectural history, History, African studies, Urban and Regional Planning.
If you are still awaiting your PhD to be awarded you will be appointed at Grade 6, spine point 30. Upon written confirmation that you have been awarded your PhD, your salary will be increased to Grade 7, spine point 31.
