The role

We are advertising for a Research Fellow in the School of Computer Science and Electronics Engineering. The Research Fellow will work alongside Dr. Santanu Dash on topics in software evolution, automatic software transformation, and related fields. The full-time, fixed-term post is funded until 25 June 2026 with a possibility of extension. 

The successful applicant will investigate and reduce the impact of rapidly evolving libraries on maintainability of their clients. They will build automated tools to update clients to use newer versions of libraries. About you

Applicants should have already completed, or be close to completing, a PhD in a relevant discipline. They should have excellent software development skills and a track record in building tools to automate software engineering tasks such as software analysis or software transformation. 

Applicants should be able to demonstrate scientific creativity, research independence, and the ability to communicate their ideas effectively in written and verbal form. Research publications in reputed journals and/or conferences in Software Engineering or Software Security is desirable. Applicants with a strong background in all areas of Software Security and/or Software Engineering are encouraged to apply.
