About the Role
WMG has an exciting opportunity for a Programme Manager to support the delivery of the department's portfolio of grant-funded, company funded and internal change projects.
An important element of the role will be to lead the Continuous Improvement activities within the Programme Management Office (PMO), thus improving the level of best practice adoption within the project managers community and WMG.
The goals are to increase automation, process efficiency, maximise the validity of data and other information created and held by the PMO whilst enhancing the value and benefits created through insight generation.
Other responsibilities include WMG lead for Catapult Impact KPI reporting, analysis, and improvement, representing WMG at on the HVMC Impact Steering Board, day-to-day management of nominated project managers, ensuring that decision-making reflects policy and the behaviour of all those involved in project management related activity reflects the values and aspirations of WMG.
The role will involve the provision of expertise, and implementation assistance, on strategic planning and change as well as capability and facility development to fulfil the requirements of current activities, future projects and initiatives.
You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to provide knowledge and expertise complementary to that of WMG and collaborative partners.

About You
You will need to have significant experience of managing a portfolio of R&D projects with a track record of successful delivery, preferably in manufacturing, along with experience in an automotive or high value manufacturing environment, in order to liaise credibly with academics & external partners.
You will need to have experience in strategic thinking, Continuous Improvement and Change Management, Programme Management and Customer Relationship Management alongside being proficient in Excel, VBA, Power Query, PowerBI and Microsoft Forms.
You will ideally be educated to postgraduate degree level and hold an appropriate professional membership or qualification.
Experience of working in both research and educational settings would be advantageous.
