At Cumbria our people are fantastic!
We have an exciting opportunity to join our committed People & Culture Team here at the University of Cumbria.
This is a great time to join the University where significant investment and transformation change is taking place. You will be joining us as we implement our People & Culture strategy and support wider initiative driving our engagement and wellbeing agenda.
Our People and Culture team is not only key to the successful development and implementation of people work streams but also builds on the team's achievements over an extensive period.
We are fortunate that we can offer flexibility to the ideal candidate, offering a role which is either a People and Culture Manager role or an HRBP level role. Those interested in the Manager role will have an opportunity to build on their leadership and management of colleagues and demonstrable impact in a private or public sector environment. Alternatively, we have a HRBP – Engagement role available for those with a passion to deliver projects and initiatives focussed on engagement and wellbeing, supporting our colleague to thrive.
If you are interested in bringing your experience, knowledge, and positive approach to an ambitious university that changes lives, we are keen to hear from you. More details are contained in the job description. We still consider applications even if you don’t meet every single one of the requirements so don’t be put off if you don’t match them perfectly.
We offer Hybrid working arrangements (min 3 days on campus either Carlisle or Lancaster, with potential for working from our Barrow campus in the future) that can be supported for this role in line with business needs.
This role is available on either a fixed term or permanent basis.
Informal enquiries: Zoe Pluckrose-Norman | Director of People and Culture | zoe.pluckrose-norman@cumbria.ac.uk
We offer a comprehensive set of staff benefits which includes a competitive salary, 35 days holiday plus bank holidays, an excellent pension scheme with 8% employer contribution, and corporate discounts to name a few.

We encourage applications from the broadest range of society, including all under-represented groups with particular emphasis on Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic candidates, who are currently under-represented in our University and in comparison, to the sector.
