Are you passionate about plant science and excited to contribute to sustainable food production? Elsoms Seeds, the UK’s leading independent seed specialist and plant breeder, has an exciting opportunity for a Genomics Researcher to join our Research & Development team in Spalding.

Your Role
You’ll work in our dedicated laboratories, managing internal and external genomics research projects. Key responsibilities include identifying and developing markers/genes for commercially relevant traits, performing bioinformatics tasks, and enabling marker-assisted selection.
What We’re Looking For
We’d love to hear from candidates with:
- A PhD (or equivalent experience) in genetics or plant sciences.
- Experience in plant biology, genetics, or laboratory work.
- Excellent scientific knowledge and methodology, attention to detail, and communication skills.
- Experience collaborating with external research organisation
Experience in agriculture or horticulture, as well as familiarity with our lab areas, is a bonus!
What We Offer
- Salary: £35,000–£45,000 (dependent on experience)
- 25 days’ leave plus bank holidays (rising with service)
