Turning Passion into Purpose PHIRST South Bank is one of eight UK Centres that have been commissioned to work alongside local governments to co-produce and conduct public health evaluations of existing or planned interventions. The Centre presents an exciting opportunity to produce robust evidence to inform future public health policy-making and commissioning decisions both locally and nationally.

This position offers the successful candidate with the opportunity to support the Centre Director and Evaluation and Impact Manager and Senior Research Fellows in the delivery of locally led public health intervention evaluations. The candidate will be expected to provide support to different stages of the evaluation process including: literature reviews, writing ethics proposals, recruitment and management of participants, data collection and analysis and dissemination activities at the end of the evaluation. The role is fixed term for one year with possibility of extension.

About You:

We are looking to hear from candidates who have the following skills/experience:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (eg public health, health psychology, health promotion) or equivalent professional/research qualifications or experience
  • Knowledge of a range of research and evaluation methodologies and analysis techniques (including both qualitative and quantitative)
  • Experience of contributing to evaluations as part of a team
  • Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines, and manage a project workload
  • Ability to support the delivery of small research projects, or identified parts of large projects
