The MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology wishes to recruit a new Research Group Leader (6-year Tenure Track) to the Division of Structural Studies.

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding scientist with research interests in the development of artificial intelligence/ machine-learning methods that will further our understanding of biology at the molecular and/or cellular scales. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, imaging (with light and/or electrons), protein engineering, and general approaches for the extraction of knowledge from large-scale biological data sets to generate impactful discoveries in structural biology.

You will hold a PhD and be an expert in machine-learning, who will take advantage of being located within a world-leading laboratory of molecular biology. We offer generous core funding to set up your group, considerable in-house computational resources and other scientific facilities, and a uniquely collaborative and collegial environment which nurtures scientific excellence. 

The LMB has a collaborative working culture and state-of-the-art building based on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. We have on-site parking, cycle enclosures and excellent public transport links to the site. We have a staff restaurant with roof terrace and access to Campus nursery, sports and social facilities. You will be eligible to join our defined benefit pension scheme with an employer contribution of 16%, holiday entitlement of 40.5 days (including bank holidays and privilege days) and a generous employee discount scheme.
