Salary: £45,163 to £56,921 per annum pro rata. Grade H
Hours: Part Time
Contract Type: Fixed-Term/Contract
Placed On: 21st January 2025
Closes: 10th February 2025

The School of Health and Social Wellbeing at UWE Bristol offers a range of innovative programmes, including a HCPC-validated and CSP-accredited BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy degree, a BSc (Hons) Applied Physiotherapy Degree Apprenticeship, and postgraduate and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Physiotherapist with expertise in Cardio-respiratory Physiotherapy, particularly in Critical Care, to join our dynamic team. A strong understanding of cardio-respiratory anatomy, physiology, pathology, assessment and treatment techniques, as well as clinical reasoning, is essential.

In addition, we are looking for a research-driven individual to teach across a variety of research modules and supervise undergraduate student dissertations. Ideally, you’ll have experience conducting and engaging with research, which may include activities such as service evaluations, audits, or evidence-based practice initiatives. Prior experience in university-level teaching and/or practice-based education is required.

A Master’s degree would be an advantage; however applicants with evidence of study at post graduate level, university teaching and/or a research profile within Physiotherapy would be positively considered.

You will need to be registered with the HCPC as a Physiotherapist

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and assessment across undergraduate programmes.
  • Lead modules and supervise undergraduate research dissertations.
  • Provide academic and pastoral support to students as a personal tutor.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, ensuring alignment with professional standards and student needs.
  • Collaborate on research and innovation.
  • Participate in clinical visiting and quality monitoring activities.

This post is based at our Glenside Campus which is set within beautiful grounds in Stapleton, just three miles north east of Bristol City Centre, with occasional opportunities for remote working.

This role requires an enhanced DBS check.

We offer a wide range of employee benefits including progressive pay rates, generous annual leave and career average pension schemes as well as retail savings, onsite nursery and opportunities for training and personal development.

We particularly encourage applications from global majority candidates as we are currently under-represented in this area of the organisation, however all appointments are made strictly on individual merit.

As a Disability Confident employer, we welcome applications from those who identify as having a disability.

This is a part-time, fixed-term post for 3 years, working on a 0.6FTE contract.
