An exciting opportunity to join the Software Services team at the University of Edinburgh. This is a Grade 7, full-time (35 hours per week), open-ended (permanent) position based in central Edinburgh. The role is hybrid, you will report to the Software Asset Manager and will be on campus a minimum of one day per week.

What the job involves:

  • Distributing software to staff and students of the University and ensuring compliance with software licensing agreements.
  • Acting as a second line of support for software-related issues, making sure issues are resolved quickly.
  • Liaising with software suppliers and internal customers in University Schools and Colleges. Providing information and support on purchasing, renewing and maintaining licenses.
  • Assisting with finance and budgeting tasks such as software procurement and cost recovery.
  • Supporting the continual improvement of software-related processes.

A bit about you:

  • Relevant experience of software licensing and management in a large organisation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Evidence of excellent attention to detail with good time management and organisational skills.
  • Evidence of excellent written and oral communication skills, and inter-personal relationship development.
