Job description

The School of Law and Society wishes to appoint a full-time Lecturer as the link tutor for Law partnerships. This is a fixed term contract until 31 July 2025.

We are looking to appoint a candidate who has demonstrable experience and ability both in managing academic partnerships and in the delivery of high quality undergraduate and postgraduate Law/Criminology programmes. Responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring and ensuring academic quality standards across franchise programmes.
  • Conducting regular reviews of teaching, learning, and assessment activities to align with the University’s frameworks and policies.
  • Supporting the validation and periodic review of programmes at partner institutions.
  • Working closely with University module convenors, partner module leaders, and teaching staff to ensure franchise delivery aligns with University quality standards.
  • Facilitating joint planning, regular communication, and resource sharing between University and partner staff.
  • Overseeing and supporting consistent delivery of curriculum, assessment, and student support services.

The candidate should have:

  • Specific academic and/or professional expertise in the field of Law/Criminology.
  • HE quality assurance experience and understand the requirements related to the Office for Students’ B3 metrics.
  • The ability to manage diverse stakeholder relationships
  • The ability to undertake lecturing/assessment duties
  • Have strong communication skills and be proactive and solution focussed.
