About the vacancy: The School of Computing and Creative Technologies is a rapidly expanding School offering high quality undergraduate and postgraduate programmes which include Mathematics, Data Science, Business Computing and Financial Technology.

We also support a growing and successful body of research in applied statistics and data science. The School has about 130 academic staff and over 2,500 undergraduate and postgraduate students.

About you: Candidates will have either have a PhD in Statistics or a closely related discipline, or else equivalent professional experience.

Expertise in statistical modelling, applications, programming (R, Python), quantitative research methods and data analytics is essential.  The successful candidate will be expected to apply their knowledge within a data science setting, for example machine learning, and be able to adapt their teaching style to provide a supportive and inclusive learning experience for our students.

You will be capable of high-quality research in a field of applied statistics leading to journal and conference publications. Awareness of research funding opportunities and a successful track record of research collaboration is essential.
