About the role
An interesting and varied role, the Evaluation Officer (Public and Community Engagement) works as part of Imperial's central Public and Community Engagement team. You will help to better understand, evidence and enhance the impact of our societal engagement activities such as festivals, school holiday activities, community partnerships and creative events. Join us at this exciting time as we launch our new Centre for Societal Engagement at Imperial.
What you would be doing
As our new Evaluation Officer, you will:
- Support teams to develop fun, meaningful and inclusive evaluation for a range of audiences and creative engagement activities.
- Contribute to reporting for many different stakeholders, at departmental through to institutional levels.
- Help colleagues to develop analytical, evaluation and reporting skills and confidence.
- Collate and maintain excellent data, monitoring trends and drawing out new insights and understanding.
- Share learnings from evaluation with our teams and wider networks, ensuring our work has value and impact.
What we are looking for
- An experienced evaluator, who has devised and delivered evaluations for a range of programmes involving publics or communities.
- Someone with excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, who produces robust and insightful work.
- A communicator who can tell a compelling and concise story from data and present findings in varied and engaging ways.
- A team player who is keen to support others to learn and embed evaluation practice into the work of our department.
- A reflective and curious mindset, with a passion for evaluation and research.

The Public and Community Engagement team sit within the Societal Engagement Division of Imperial and support staff and students across the university to engage the public with their work and research. We deliver events, festivals, school holiday programmes and activities for adults, young people, community groups, families and more. To support our colleagues develop engagement skills, we run training, seed funds, awards and networks. Our team is friendly, creative and passionate, and we value diversity of voices and ideas in all areas of our work.
