The Research Operations Office is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team that supports the School of Clinical Medicine. 

The post-holder manages and is responsible for a team that administers a large portfolio of research grants for Departments in the School, ensuring that all administrative aspects of grant applications and reporting are completed following funder requirements and that all eligible expenses are recovered from the funder. The Research Support Manager requires a broad skills-set, not only excellent interpersonal and people management ability, but a high level of numeracy with an understanding of financial systems and processes. The post holder will require problem-solving skills to check budgets and reporting, to resolve issues and ensure a smooth and consistent delivery of service by the team. 

Cambridge Research Office is due to implement the Worktribe post-award module in 2025 following successful implementation of pre-award and contracts modules in 2024.  

The role will play a key part in supporting the implementation; championing, and embedding new working practices across the service, and ensuring a smooth transition. The role will also contribute to driving continuous improvement and long-term effectiveness throughout the service. 

We are looking for a candidate educated to degree level or equivalent, with both financial and people management experience including significant experience in complex grant administration ideally in a university or clinical research organisation.
