About the role:
The UK Energy Research Centre carries out world-class, interdisciplinary research into sustainable future energy systems and an exciting opportunity has arisen for an Engagement and Events Manager to join the team.
What you would be doing:
In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for engaging with internal and external stakeholders within the energy research programme and wider sector, building strong relationships across academia, policy and industry.
Key responsibilities include taking a strategic view of engagement activities and delivering events to raise the profile of the centre and build connections across the sector.

You will have excellent organisational skills, as well as an ability to get along with a wide range of people. You will be a supportive and enthusiastic colleague, who can collaborate with everyone in the organisation to translate knowledge, skills and expertise.
The role will include working with key academic staff as well as stakeholders from across the energy sector, so strong interpersonal and communication skills are critical. Flexibility is also crucial, as you'll need to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. You will be responsible for planning and overseeing the programme of events, coordinating several activities at once.
A confident multi-tasker, you will have meticulous attention to detail and the proven ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload and delivering high quality events and activities with competing deadlines. You will enjoy working both independently and across a range of varied tasks. You will be confident exercising your own initiative and taking a solution focused and proactive approach.
