About the Role
The William Harvey Research Institute seeks researchers in Data Science, Statistical Genetics, and AI for Precision Cardiovascular Genomic Medicine. The focus is on enhancing CV disease diagnosis, prevention, and personalized therapy through deep phenotyping, polygenic risk scores, and molecular signatures. Researchers will collaborate with global experts to analyze diverse data from various sources, while AI specialists will develop tools for cardiovascular research under the Horizon Europe NextGen programme, aiming to create algorithms for CV disease prediction using multimodal patient data.
About You
You hold a PhD in computer-science, statistics, data science, or a related field. Expertise in data analysis, machine learning, AI techniques, and programming skills in R, Python, or similar languages, along with Unix/Linux experience, is essential.
About the School/Department/Institute/Project
Global studies are exploring genetic, demographic, and lifestyle factors affecting cardiovascular disease (CVD) to improve diagnosis and treatment. The NIHR Barts Biomedical Research Centre collaborates with BHF-NIHR Cardiovascular Partnership and NextGen, a network of 21 organizations, to advance CVD research through clinical and multi-omic data.
