We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and flexible individual to join the Risk and Compliance team as Electrical Compliance Engineer, within the Estates department.
The post holder will principally be involved in the management of the University Low Voltage safe system of work. They will act as the University Low Voltage Duty Holder (LV AP) ensuring that suitable management systems are in place for compliance with the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and IET Wiring Regulations.
The post holder operate as the lead University LV AP and manage the process of maintaining a sufficient number of trained and competent LV AP’s to manage the safe system of work. They will be responsible for making sure that all contractors and directly employed staff comply with the University electrical procedures through a process of assessment, supervision and audit.
The post holder will operate as a High Voltage authorised person (HVAP) for the purpose of controlling entry and work activity inside University High Voltage substations. They will be required to act as the primary contact for the University High Voltage service provider for all work carried out on the University High Voltage network. They will ensure that the other University HV AP’s are trained and competent.
