Applicants must be suitably qualified and have some previous experience of teaching law at undergraduate level.

About the Institute of Law

Founded in 2008, the Institute of Law is an independent, not-for-profit body based in Jersey, providing academic and professional legal education. With an emphasis on promoting knowledge and learning through first-class teaching and research, the Institute offers innovative programmes ranging from the prestigious University of London Certificate in Common Law, LLB, a Graduate Diploma in Commercial Law, postgraduate degrees in Jersey law, and professional qualifications for advocates and solicitors throughout the Channel Islands.

Our Teaching

Our teaching takes a mixed approach of both staff-led lectures and student-led activities (e.g. flipped learning, problem-based learning). It is complemented by a personal tutoring system that offers all our students bespoke pastoral and academic support. We also offer extra-curricular activities designed to enhance the legal, professional, and academic study skills of our students. We are passionate about equality, diversity and inclusion and seek to provide a welcoming, friendly and safe learning space for all our learners.

Teaching Fellows are expected to design and deliver a range of interactive and engaging learning activities for up to three modules. In addition, Teaching Fellows set and mark formative assessments throughout the academic year.

Level 4:

  • Contract Law
