Would you like the opportunity to be play a vital role in the effective administration of student assessment and to contribute to the student experience at the University?

If so, we are looking for someone who is self-motivated and has good organisational and planning skills, who can work effectively within a team and with colleagues and students across the University. You will have good attention to detail and be familiar with the suite of MS Office packages (especially Word, Excel and Teams). You will be able to communicate effectively and have a ‘can-do’ attitude and a solution-focussed approach to issue resolution. 

This role will provide you with an interesting and varied workload that is designed to support the assessment journey at the University. You will play a key role in the collation and accurate processing of assessment results and for the preparation and servicing of Assessment Boards. You will be encouraged to identify areas for service improvement and systems enhancement. 

You will work closely with the Deputy Head of Registry (Assessments and Graduation) to support the continuous improvement of the team and its functions, and support the provision of training, advice, and guidance to stakeholders on the effective administration of assessment. You will have an opportunity to support the organisation and delivery of the University’s graduation ceremonies and be part of celebrating the successes of students.

A significant part of your role will include supporting the mitigating circumstances and academic appeals procedures.  Therefore, we are looking for someone who has a compassionate approach to the investigation and resolution of student casework and who can resolve cases promptly within the confines of internal and external frameworks and good practice guidance. You will issue outcomes to students in a compassionate manner and be able to manage multiple deadlines and a varied workload.

You will also spend time supporting the operations of the Student Helpdesk, where you will work collaboratively with colleagues to provide a friendly and helpful service to students and assist in the resolution of student queries and requests for advice.
