Description of Post
The part time panel for the Assistant Lecturer will play an active role in covering ad hoc/part time teaching hours as required by management in MH undergraduate and postgraduate nursing courses including teaching and research supervision.
Appointment(s) may be on a part time basis as required at Assistant Nursing Lecturer level.
Please note: The postholder will be based at the ATU Donegal, Letterkenny Campus.
Essential Qualifications
Minimum
- An Honours Degree (2.2 or higher) in a relevant Level 8 Nursing degree [as specified in the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ)], or equivalent.
- Three years relevant post-qualification experience.
- Be registered on the relevant Nursing Division of the Register for Nurses maintained by NMBI or be eligible to be so registered.
Desirable
- Have recent clinical nursing experience in Mental Health Nursing discipline.
- A post-graduate degree in a relevant specialist nursing area.
- Experience of lecturing at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level in a 3rd level environment.
- Be registered on the Nurse Tutors Division of the Register of Nurses maintained by NMBI or be eligible to be so registered.
- Experience in the development of new programmes and curricular development.
- Excellent communication skills, organisational skills and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant teaching and research experience.
