Are you an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual interested in developing your research experience, whilst also being supported to undertake a PhD? This is an exciting opportunity for a Research Trainee to be part of a team of statisticians based within York Trials Unit (YTU). YTU is a leading UK Clinical Research Collaboration (UKCRC) registered trials unit, renowned for its expertise in conducting randomised controlled trials of complex interventions
Role
As a Research Trainee, you will conduct statistical analyses of randomised controlled trials and assist with the design, conduct and write-up of research for reports and publications. Alongside your main role, you will be supported to undertake a PhD at the University of York, under the supervision of Prof Catherine Hewitt. The PhD will focus on gaining more precise parameters to inform sample size calculations in trials involving two aspects: using a confidence interval approach for pilot criteria and approaches for establishing non-inferiority margins.
