Role and person specification

The Integral Ecology Research Network (IERN) is seeking to appoint a part time (0.6 FTE) Project Coordinator and Assistant to the Director. The role will commence from 18 March 2025 on the basis of a fixed-term 20-month contract.

The Integral Ecology Research Network is a global community connecting academics and practitioners working within the integral ecology paradigm. Its mission is to develop and promote integral ecology research and practice that can advance a just socio-ecological transformation for our world. The Integral Ecology Research Network is an initiative of the Laudato Si’ Research Institute (LSRI) based at Campion Hall, University of Oxford.

This is a new position for an individual seeking to work within an academic organisation at an exciting moment of growth and development. The role comprises project and events coordination in support of the mission of IERN, and operational support for the work of its Director, Dr Peter Rožič SJ. The candidate must have the ability to address and coordinate a wide variety of tasks efficiently.

This a part-time, fixed-term position, working 0.6 FTE (3 days / 24 hours per week) for 20 months (until October 2026).

Required skills and experience

  • Experience in project coordination, preferably in academic or research environments. 
  • Ability to demonstrate skills in event coordination, if direct experience is lacking.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with attention to detail. 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. 
  • A flexible approach to tasks and working hours. 
  • Proficiency in office tools and project management software.

Familiarity with environmental issues, Jesuit networks, or integral ecology is advantageous. The candidate must be in broad sympathy with the mission of IERN. For more information, see https://iern.org.
