Assistant Facilities Services Manager - Projects (LUM525/1662)

About the Role

There are a number of significant new projects coming to fruition in the next twelve months, including Pudsey Sixth Form, Enfield Centre at Mabgate, College House at Mabgate, Morley Centre, Keighley Met, Harrogate College, Park Lane block C, Temple Newsam.

The purpose of the role is to support the transition of new sites currently under construction, into Estates business as usual. This will involve liaising with project managers within Capital Projects, Departmental heads and principals, contractors and colleagues within Estates Directorate (Facilities Managers, Property and Maintenance staff) to ensure a coordinated and compliant transfer, so that complete records of each new site are set up, operation and maintenance manuals transferred, maintenance requirements, warranties, plans and schematics, building services responsibilities are clear and all required information, systems and resources needed to operate the buildings are in place.

It will also involve assisting with the planning and delivery of any moves and clearance of any vacated bulidings as required.

What You Will Do

  • Support the Facilities team in the transfer of new or refurbished buildings or new leased properties, into business as usual by capturing requirements at handover, either from contractors/developers or from departments moving into new premises
  • Acting as central liaison between these and the various estates support teams taking over responsibility for the detailed requirements (FM, Compliance, SHE services, Sustainability, and the incorporation of these requirements into existing contracts and in house service level provision and systems 
  • Liaise and communicate with a range of managers, contractors and staff.
  • Support, on direction the commissioning and opening of any capital building and act as the key site contact as required. 
  • Plan timelines for several projects taking place in parallel, deriving action lists for each.
  • Assist with procurement of contracts and goods, manage large numbers of data and electronic documents and organise and deliver briefings to groups of stakeholders about specific aspects of particular projects. 

About You

  • Must have demonstrable and significant experience in management of facilities/property maintenance
  •  Educated to level 2
  • Have a full UK driving licence
  • Previous experience in successfully building/leading/supporting/motivating teams. 
  • Proven ability to analyse complex data and produce succint reports,
  • Use new technology to improve services
