About the Post

Are you passionate about enhancing the quality of education and student experience? Do you have a strategic vision and the ability to lead transformative initiatives? The University of Suffolk is seeking an innovative Pro-Vice Chancellor for Education and Student Experience to join our Executive team.

The Pro-Vice Chancellor for Education and Student Experience will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of the university's education strategy, ensuring it aligns with the institution's mission and goals. This role involves overseeing the quality of the student experience, including monitoring the National Student Survey and other measures of student satisfaction. The Pro-Vice Chancellor for Education and Student Experience will ensure that the university's quality assurance and enhancement procedures are fit for purpose, streamlined, and responsive, while managing relationships with external agencies such as the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) and Advance HE.

The role includes overseeing the university's processes for programme approval and review, maintaining high academic standards through robust assessment processes, and leading academic appeals, student complaints, disciplinary, and fitness to practise procedures.

The Pro-Vice Chancellor also promotes the university through outreach activities, supports student transition and success, develops strategies to enhance student experience through excellent support services, and oversees the quality of learning resources. The role involves fostering the development of pedagogic practice, working closely with the Student Union and student representatives to enhance student engagement, and implementing our values to promote a culture of inclusion for all.

About You

We are seeking a candidate who is committed to excellence in learning, teaching, and research. You will be an inspirational leader with a proven track record of driving pedagogic change and enhancing the student experience. You will be innovative, collaborative, and able to engage effectively with students, staff, and stakeholders to implement changes that benefit student outcomes and experiences. Additionally, you will be an experienced and effective people and performance manager, capable of working seamlessly with colleagues across the university and with external partners. A strong commitment to promoting inclusion and diversity within the university community is essential.
