Postgraduate Education and Clinical Academic Training Section Office of the School of Clinical Medicine
Applications are invited for a full-time Funding Programmes Manager to work in the Postgraduate Education and Clinical Academic Training section in the School of Clinical Medicine.
The successful applicant will work with the Head of the Postgraduate Education and Clinical Academic Training section and funding programme directors in the management of several postgraduate student funding programmes managed within the School. The funding programmes cover a range of cross Department and School areas and are high profile both within, and external to, the School, involving significant funding budgets.
This is a varied and challenging role that gives an opportunity to work with senior stakeholders on strategically important areas of activity. The role provides managerial and governance oversight of funding and training programmes managed within the section and is a key liaison point for the programmes within the School, University and with funding providers. The role is responsible for ensuring the programmes are managed and operated within the University procedures and funder requirements and provides information, data and reports as required to the relevant stakeholders. The role supports the development of any bids and proposals for new funding program and manages a small team responsible for the day-to-day operation of the programs. The role also provides Secretariat support to a small number of trust funds managed within the section.
The successful applicant will have excellent operational and staff management abilities and have a proven track record in managing stakeholder relationships at a senior level. The successful applicant will also be fully effective in modern communication and data management technologies (experience of Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint, Zoom etc). Applicants should be educated to at least degree level or equivalent and ideally should have previous experience within higher education. Full details about the role can be found in the Further Particulars.
The role is full-time although applications for flexible working will be considered. Although working in a hybrid fashion for the foreseeable future, the successful candidate will be expected to have a visible presence in the Postgraduate Education and Clinical Academic Training Section in the School of Clinical Medicine if required. The role is part funded by an external grant so is offered as fixed term for 3 years linked to the renewal timescale of that grant.
