About the Role
For informal enquiries, please contact Ed Kempell (Assistant Operations Manager) at Ed.Kempell@warwick.ac.uk.
As a community safety officer, you will be the ‘face of Warwick’, and a friendly and engaging first point of contact for the thousands of students, staff, business partners, and visitors that come to our beautiful, 750-acre campus every year from around the world.
This role will require Enhanced DBS with Child’s Barred List check.
If you are included on a child barred list, you will be breaking the law by applying for this role.
About You
You’ll need to be comfortable working on ‘the everyday’ (think monitoring CCTV cameras, patrolling our campus, and responding to fire alarms) to the ‘exceptional’ (managing major events, escorting VIP visitors, investigating crime on campus) and everything in between. We can honestly tell you that no two days are the same in this surprising, challenging and rewarding role.
We have four teams working 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, and we operate on a ‘4 on, 4 off’, 12-hour shift pattern that consists of two days and two nights and is designed with your wellbeing and work-life balance in mind.
Please note, as this role will involve driving University vehicles, to be covered by the University Vehicle Insurance Policy, you must be in possession of a full UK or EU equivalent licence, which has been in force for at least 1 year and have no serious driving convictions (any period of disqualification must have expired by at least 1 year).
You will be required to work a pattern of two days and two nights of 12 hours duration, followed by four days off, which equates to an average of 42 hours per week.
For further information regarding the skills required for this role please see the personal specification section of the attached job description.
