The Warwick Law School (WLS), University of Warwick, is looking to attract emerging and exceptional talent in legal and socio-legal research in the UK, through the UKRI Future Leaders Fellowships: round 10. We would like to host and support external candidates with their applications. The FLF fellowship offers long-term, flexible support, including the fellow's salary and research, staff and training costs, plus the opportunity of a permanent academic position on successful completion of the fellowship.
Eligibility:
This scheme is for early career researchers and innovators who are transitioning to, or establishing independence, or who may be developing their own original and ambitious plans within a commercial setting.
Applicants do not need to hold a PhD, and there are no eligibility rules on years since PhD. If you do not hold a PhD, you must demonstrate equivalent research or innovation experience or training. There are no eligibility rules based on whether the applicant currently holds a permanent or open-ended academic position or job role.
Full details of the call and the eligibility criteria can be found at Pre-announcement: Future Leaders Fellowships: round 10 – UKRI.
How to Apply:
An open and inclusive internal selection process will be employed to support the best candidates to the full application stage.
Interested applicants are asked to submit the following documents:
A completed EOI form (maximum length: 5 pages).
The School of Law will nominate the two strongest applications to the internal selection process. Applications will be first reviewed by Faculty-level selection panels. A maximum of 4 proposals selected from each Faculty will be taken forward to be reviewed by a university-level selection panel which will identify the 6 applications to be submitted to UKRI.
The internal selection panels at Faculty and University level will make their decisions solely on the basis of the information contained in the EOI and R4RI, assessing them against the fit to the scheme assessment criteria as outlined above. Applicants should therefore provide the full information requested using the template provided. Applicants should be mindful that the submitted EOI and R4RI will be used for both Faculty-level and University-level selections, where not all panel members will be from the research discipline of the applicant. The information in the proposal should therefore be stated in a clear format for all panel members including non-experts.
Applications received will be assessed against the UKRI assessment criteria for this scheme:
Please submit this document by Tuesday 11th February 2025 to j.c.wilson@warwick.ac.uk via the above ‘Apply’ button. Please note that the University internal deadline is in March 2025, and we will work with the selected candidates to develop their EOI.
Full details of the duties and selection criteria for this role can be found in the vacancy advert on the University of Warwick's jobs pages.
