ABOUT SCHOOL OF MATHEMATICS AND PHYSICS  (SMP)

The School of Mathematics and Physics at XJTLU is one of the major schools in the University where we have about 2500 mathematics related majors. We have a Ph.D., Program where our graduates receive a PHD from the University of Liverpool.

The current dean of School of Mathematics and Physics, Prof. Jintai Ding, is a world leading expert in the area of applied mathematics and cryptography. He returned to China after spending more than 30 years in the US. The school is aiming to become a world leading institution in industry and applied mathematics research.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATION

Essential Qualifications/Experience

The School of Mathematics at XJTLU invites applications for faculty positions at all levels in Mathematics.

The successful applicant to the position of Teaching Fellow is expected to have:

  • A PhD’s degree in Math or a related field,
  • Ideally at least 3 years related teaching experience in higher education in English.

The successful applicant to the position of Senior Teaching Fellow is expected to have:

  • A PhD’s degree in Math or a related field,
  • Ideally at least 6 years related extensive full time teaching experience in higher education in English with high evaluation.

Desirable Qualifications/Experience

  • Curriculum design and programme development experience,
  • Active engagement with Math community.

CITIZENSHIP AND VISA REGULATIONS

Employment at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University is regulated by Chinese Labour Laws, and must comply with the regulations of the provincial government. These regulations stipulate who is eligible for legal employment with regard to obtaining work permits and visas. Please be advised candidates over 65 may be not eligible for a work visa in the P.R. China.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

XJTLU offers a 3-year renewable contract, where the 3rd contract is open-ended, providing long-term work stability.

Salary: Competitive salary in the global market

Base annual salary:

Teaching Fellow: CNY 380,000 – 490,000 (USD 52,083 - 66,736) 

Senior Teaching Fellow: CNY 490,000 – 590,000 (USD 66,736 - 80,866)

1. Allowance: XJTLU provide various month/annual/one-off allowances as
