Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in Fashion and Textile Technology (Ref. 241230005)
The appointee will be required to (a) teach and contribute curriculum development at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels and supervise research students; (b) initiate, lead, and participate in research, consultancy, and other scholarly activities leading to publications in refereed journals and/or exhibitions, as well as awards of research grants; and (c) undertake academic and departmental administrative duties.
Applicants should have (a) a PhD degree in Fashion and Textile Technology, Fiber Science and Engineering or a related discipline; (b) sound knowledge in university teaching and research in fibre sciences, wearable technology, or other related areas in fashion and textile technology; (c) solid research and publication records in high-quality scholarly journals as well as promising potential in bidding for research grants and establishing significant externally funded research programs; (d) strong commitment to excellence in teaching and research; and (e) excellent communication skills and be able to use English as the medium of instruction. Preference will be given to those with strong research orientation, a track record of publishing high quality scholarly journals, or a very good teaching record.
Applicants for appointment at Associate Professor level should have substantial years of relevant post-qualification experience and an excellent record of relevant academic and/or research achievements. Applicants with less experience will be considered for appointment as Assistant Professor.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment for Assistant Professor will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. An appropriate term will be provided for appointment at Associate Professor level.
