We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced academic for the role of Senior Lecturer in Computer Science. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in programme leadership and undergraduate (UG) module leadership, with a commitment to Periodic Programme Review and Reapproval (PPRR) to ensure that our programs meet high standards and remain relevant in a rapidly evolving field. This role is ideal for an educator dedicated to teaching excellence, student support, and curriculum enhancement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching & UG Module Leadership: Lead and deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical sessions across UG modules in Computer Science, covering essential and advanced topics such as Programming, Web Development,  Human Computer Interaction and Client Server Computing. Provide oversight to maintain high standards in module content, assessment, and student engagement.
  • Programme Leadership: Take on a significant role in managing and enhancing academic programs, collaborating with colleagues to achieve strategic educational goals and improve the student experience.
  • Periodic Programme Review and Reapproval (PPRR): Actively contribute to PPRR processes, reviewing and updating program content to meet academic and industry standards and drive continuous improvement.
  • Student Support & Mentorship: Offer individualized support to students, assisting with academic challenges, career planning, and project development.
  • Research & Scholarly Activity: Engage in research-led teaching activities and supervise UG and PG research projects.
  • Subject Group Contributions: Participate in meetings, committees, and initiatives, fostering a collaborative and innovative academic community.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • Educational Background: A Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field is advantageous but not required. Candidates with substantial professional experience and a master’s degree or equivalent are encouraged to apply.
  • Teaching Experience: Proven experience in teaching and leading UG Computer Science modules, with strong skills in student engagement and support.
  • Programme Leadership Experience: Demonstrated experience in programme management, including curriculum design, planning, and collaboration with academic and industry stakeholders.
  • UG Module Leadership: Established experience in coordinating and enhancing UG modules, with a commitment to quality improvement.
  • PPRR Experience: Experience in Periodic Programme Review and Reapproval or similar quality assurance processes.
  • Leadership & Collaboration Skills: Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within the subject group  and with external partners.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with innovative, technology-enhanced teaching methods.
  • Prior experience supervising UG and PG student research projects.
  • Active involvement in professional Computer Science organizations.
