UHI Perth is one of Scotland’s leading Colleges of Further and Higher Education, and a large partner in Scotland’s newest University, the University of the Highlands and Islands.
We are seeking an Engineering Lecturer with experience to join our growing team to support the delivery of our Engineering programmes. At UHI Perth we offer a suite of Engineering courses from craft level to degree, at SCQF level 4 to 10. You would teach predominately at levels 4 to 8. This role may also involve online and in-country delivery as part of our international programmes as well as on-campus delivery of Math and Physics to students on science programmes.
The campus is well resourced to deliver a first-class learning experience with a well-balanced mix of lecture theatres, classrooms, laboratories and training workshops.
As a lecturer you will contribute to shaping the future of the next generation of engineers through teaching and other scholarly activities which may include research and consultancy. Within your specialisation, you will be responsible for: preparing materials for learning, teaching and assessment; for the teaching of theory and practical aspects; supervising student project work; and contributing to the development of programmes in engineering. The post may also involve the development and delivery of our international programmes.
Candidates should, as a minimum, hold an HND in an Engineering related discipline. Industry experience or a degree would be a strong advantage. Previous teaching experience is desirable as is an ability to teach across broad engineering disciplines. In addition, you should be a well-motivated self-starter with good communication skills who is able to work effectively with a team. A strong learner focus and an awareness of the engineering requirements of industry are essential.
