About the role
Do you like working with words? And people? Would you like to help the University of Plymouth change the way it works with both for the better?
The job description for our new Internal Communications Officer will tell you that we’re looking for someone to deliver a comprehensive, customer-focused, creative internal communications service. But this job is really a two-year mission to cut through jargon and help us communicate with clarity, meaning and purpose.
As a key member of the Corporate Communications team, your main role will be supporting a significant change programme within our Professional Services functions. You’ll be someone who’s comfortable handling nuanced, sometimes complicated messages across multiple projects, and tailoring them to a variety of different audiences across appropriate channels.
You will work closely with our Internal Communications Manager (your line manager) and Head of Corporate Communications, including – as a small team – unlocking your colleagues’ time, so they can support this vital work too.
Full details are in the job description, but we can summarise the role as a collaborative, creative communications professional who enjoys a challenge.
What we’re looking for
If you’re a team player who is good with words and people, you might be just the person we’re looking for.
This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week on a fixed-term basis for a period of 2 years due to business demand. Remote working is available up to 2 days a week.
