About the Role

We are looking for an experienced researcher to join the research group of Professor Gina Neff, Professor of Responsible AI at Queen Mary’s Digital Environment Research Institute (DERI). As the Senior Staff Scientist you will join Professor Neff’s newly established lab within DERI, contributing to the delivery of high-quality research, scholarship, and training.

You will be tasked will producing excellence science, taking the lead on undertaking high-level research, and overseeing the Neff Lab. You will also provide a range of support to the development, and submission of follow-on funding applications, including horizon scanning, bid writing, and development, and the coordination of bid teams.

The role will be funded for 12 months in the first instance, with possible extension.

About You

Successful candidates will hold a PhD, or have obtained equivalent experience, in social science research of technology, including schools, multidisciplinary studies in digital communication, sociology, psychology or other related fields. You will have extensive experience at postdoctoral level, and be able to make research initiatives and original contributions to the Neff Lab's research portfolio, including managing and submitting grant applications, and regularly preparing, writing, and presenting your own research work.
