About the Role

You will work closely with colleagues in Development and Alumni Engagement and across the University, to plan and deliver alumni and supporter engagement events that enable mutually beneficial relationships in support of the university strategy. The post holder will be responsible for planning and delivering a range of engagement events across multiple channels, including in person, online and hybrid events.

This role will align particularly with the work of WMG (Warwick Manufacturing Group), where specialisms include digital technologies, energy, organisation and societal transformation, materials and manufacturing, and intelligent vehicles, WMG is creating a better tomorrow through innovation and learning today.

About You

You have substantial experience of planning and delivering innovative and engaging events, and a clear passion for curating the right atmosphere to maximise engagement. 

You are thoughtful of the attendee experience and enjoy creating unique and interesting experiences for your guests and your attention to detail means that you maximise every area of an event. Your excellent communication skills allow you to work successfully alongside a variety of internal and external stakeholders, from students through to the University Executive board. You can problem solve quickly and effectively and find cost effective solutions as you manage a budget.

  • Substantial experience of working in a fundraising, alumni engagement, marketing, communications, stakeholder engagement and/or events role
  • Experience of delivering events and developing event communications, including event briefings, and speaking notes, for a complex organisation with numerous clients and a wide range of stakeholders
  • Experience of handling sensitive and confidential information with an understanding and knowledge of GDPR
  • Experience of project managing and delivering complex digital events, hybrid events and face to face events
  • Effective team working skills and good negotiating skills
  • Excellent IT skills including working with CRM/databases
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills and ability to pre-empt problems
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of relevant work practices, policies, procedures, regulations and legislation
  • Imaginative approach to problem solving, assertiveness and ability to act decisively
  • Experience of managing budgets as required per project
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Flexibility and the willingness to work outside of usual office hours to support alumni engagement and donor events, as required
  • Experience of working in Higher Education (desirable)
  • Experience of working with international stakeholders (desirable)
  • Knowledge and understanding of the functions and best practices of Development and Alumni Engagement teams (desirable)
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge, Blackbaud Enterprise CRM or other alumni engagement databases (desirable)
