Background

The School of Health Sciences is part of a highly successful and vibrant faculty, frequently commended for our partnership working across the health and social care sector. Supported by our simulation strategy and resources, the school delivers a range of undergraduate and post graduate courses leading to registration in nursing, midwifery, and allied healthcare professions. The University has invested over £8 million in the development of a state-of-the-art simulation centre, which further enhances our record of teaching, research and knowledge exchange innovation.

The Post  

We  are looking to appoint a speech & language therapy educator in this part time fixed term position and welcome applications from experienced speech and language therapists keen to develop their role as educators as well enabling applicants continued engagement in clinical practice. You will play a key role in facilitating teaching and learning, and research and knowledge exchange across our Speech and Language Therapy Provision. The post holder will work with our speech and language therapy lead, wider team and employers to roll out our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes (including a degree apprenticeship and MSc in 2025). The programmes have been designed collaboratively with key stakeholders; the post holder will work closely with our stakeholders on a continuing basis.

You will have opportunity to complete a PGCHE and progress through our GOLD framework to achieve HEA senior fellowship, as well as contribute to faculty wide research and knowledge exchange activities.  Opportunity may also exist to undertake doctoral studies through a professional doctorate or PhD programme.
