The School of Health Sciences is part of the highly successful and vibrant Faculty for Education, Health, and Human Sciences. The faculty has a strong focus on professional and workforce development. Frequently commended for our partnership working across the sector, the school delivers a range of undergraduate and post graduate courses leading to registration in nursing, midwifery, and allied healthcare professions. We are looking to appoint an experienced academic to join the school as an Associate Professor in Health Sciences. In this role, you will be required to demonstrate substantial experience of working in a higher education context including curriculum development, approvals and PSRB approved health programmes.
Co aligned with the requirements of the associate professor role; the successful applicant will also be required to undertake the role of Deputy Head of School for 75% of their time for an initial period of three years.
The role as Deputy Head of School will support the Head of School to develop and deliver on the school’s strategic priorities, focusing on School growth and expansion. You will provide strong academic leadership and vision driven by a commitment to Teaching and Student Experience. The post holder is expected to have, and maintain, strong stakeholder relationships, a proven track record of discipline-related pedagogical expertise and to provide leadership and to set standards of excellence. The successful candidate must also hold a PhD or equivalent professional practice in a relevant discipline.
Staff are expected to continue delivering their academic career objectives and contribute to teaching, learning, research, and knowledge exchange where appropriate.
