About Us
Applications are invited for a talented and motivated post-doctoral researcher to join the epidemiology research group at the Psychological Medicine department, Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s College London. The team comprises a young team of multi-disciplinary researchers, clinical fellows, and PhD students led by Dr Alex Dregan. We are investigating the interplay between mental and physical long-term conditions to translate research evidence into effective population health policies and improved patient-centred outcomes.
About the Role
The project is a 5-year, £2.7 million research programme funded by the NIH (USA) to address the epidemiology of hereditary angioedema and evaluate effective prophylactic interventions to prevent or delay future risk of complications. The project is led by a multi-disciplinary international team from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (USA), King’s College London, Lund University (Sweden), and Semmelweis University (Hungary). We are currently looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic, post-doctoral researcher in quantitative data science to join our team at King’s College London. The primary role of the post-holder will be to lead projects involving quantitative analysis of linked electronic health records across the primary and secondary care settings.
The appointed researcher will work on a National institute of Health (US) funded project exploring the risk of major vascular events in the short, medium and long-term in people living with hereditary angioedema, an autosomal-dominant disease resulting from mutation in C1-inhibitor gene, using real-world datasets. This is an exciting chance to join a multidisciplinary international team to evaluate predictors of future vascular and mental health complications and effective prophylactic treatment interventions. The post holder will lead on data analyses and write up of findings for scientific publications and funder report. This role is well suited to a person who is not daunted by large-scale complex dataset and to those keen to expand their analytical skills and publication record.
This is a part time post (3-days per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract until 31 December 2025.
