Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Research Associate) in Nanomedicine post within the NanoOmics Lab in the Centre for Nanotechnology in Medicine at the University of Manchester. The post is available from 1st March 2025 and will be tenable on a fixed term basis for 12 months with the possibility to extend further for five years.

You will contribute to the European Research Council Starting Grant awarded to Dr Marilena Hadjidemetriou, focusing upon utilizing nanoparticle-enabled technology to explore the link between brain pathology and the blood proteome. You will employ a combination of ex vivo blood proteomics analysis and in vivo preclinical mouse models to discover novel liquid biopsy biomarkers for glioblastoma and Alzheimer’s disease, using our in-house nanoscale blood enrichment platform. You should be a current or prior holder of a Procedure Individual License (PIL) for in vivo work. Demonstrable previous experience in Nanomedicine or Biomarker research in addition to expertise in histology and proteomics techniques are essential.

You should hold a PhD in Pharmacology, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biology or Medicine or equivalent. Evidence of a developing research publication track record will be advantageous.
