Overview of the Role
Do you have a flare for producing engaging written communications? Do you have a proactive and enthusiastic approach to your work? Are you a confident verbal communicator with experience of building and maintaining relationships with a wide range of stakeholders?
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual to our School Operations Team with excellent administrative, interpersonal, and organisational skills to coordinate Communications activities in the School working in collaboration with the School Management Team and the University’s Alumni and Development Office. You will develop, coordinate and help to deliver the School’s communications strategy under the direction of the School Management Team, the Faculty Marketing Team and the University’s Communications Team.
The purpose of the role is to increase significantly the visibility and reach of expertise in the School (e.g., research and scholarship outputs, events and activities) to relevant internal and external audiences. As such, you will be able to demonstrate a high degree of personal responsibility and initiative in all areas of the role as well as a high level of attention to detail, with experience of providing excellent customer service as a main point of contact between the School and external stakeholders. You will be an excellent team player with an ability to work to deadlines. You will be fully competent using the Microsoft 365 suite and be able to manage email, internet-based systems (e.g., Jadu, WordPress, Canva) and social media effectively.
Standard working hours for the post will be 9am to 5pm three days a week, however there may be a need to work outside these hours to ensure events organised by the School Operations Team are successfully supported. The role will be campus based with some flexibility for hybrid working by agreement.
Please note that due to Home Office visa requirements, this role is not suitable for first-time Skilled Worker visa applicants. Information on other visa options is available via the Government’s Work in the UK page.
