Postdoctoral Research Associate/Fellow or Senior Research Fellow

This new full time post is available from 1 April 2025 on a fixed term basis until 31 March 2028.

Summary of the role

The Faculty of Environment Science and Economy wishes to recruit either a Postdoctoral Research Associate or Fellow or a Senior Research Fellow to participate in a funded position studying the evolution of body shape. This Leverhulme Trust funded post is available April 2025 to March 2028. The successful applicant will conduct research into the evolution of sexual dimorphism using replicate populations of beetles.  

The post will include insect husbandry, shape analysis, data interpretation, and manuscript writing. 

About you

Applicants will possess a relevant PhD or equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study.

The successful applicant for Fellow level will be a nationally recognised (or internationally recognised for Senior level) authority in evolution. Applicants for all levels will possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to develop research programmes and methodologies. The successful applicant will also be able to work collaboratively, supervise the work of others and act as team leader as required. Applicants will be able to learn and develop novel analytical skills.
