The Role
The College of Business and Law is seeking to recruit a new Lecturer in Academic English to join its highly successful Sino-UK collaborative partnership with the Southwest University of Political Sciences and Law (SWUPL) in Chongqing, China. The successful candidate will design, deliver, and assess a variety of English language modules for academic purposes and will prepare students for their progression to Coventry Law School.
As a Lecturer you will be responsible for developing, preparing, and delivering teaching, learning, and assessment at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. This includes module leadership where appropriate. You will also contribute to the development, organisation, and management of the curriculum, incorporating international and intercultural experiences.
You will demonstrate good practice in teaching, learning, and assessment by utilizing a wide range of learning resources and appropriate practices. Your teaching will be informed by contemporary research, fostering students' abilities to engage in debate, critical discourse, and rational thinking.
The post will be based in Chongqing, China.
Successful Candidate
You should hold a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant subject and have experience in language education and would be beneficial to have taught international students.
Candidates with a degree in education, language, or teacher training, or those holding a teaching certificate from the UK or an international language teaching certificate, are exempt from the work experience requirement.
You must be committed to high-quality student services and have a growing reputation in teaching, scholarship, research, and enterprise. Additionally, you should be able to support and develop curriculum and professional learning programs.
