The Opportunity

We are looking for an ambitious individual with experience of academic research and research impact development to join a team of staff in Keele University’s Partnership Development team within the Directorate of Research, Innovation and Engagement. The team is responsible for facilitating engagements between the University and external organisations, and for ensuring the opportunities for impacts from such relationships are maximised. In the context of this role, the focus is on supporting academic colleagues in identifying external beneficiaries of the research undertaken in the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences, and developing those opportunities. The post holder will also support the ongoing monitoring of pathways activities, including knowledge exchange, the collection of evidence relating to research impacts, and the development of narrative case studies around them.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Partnership Development & Impact, the Faculty Dean for Research and the Faculty’s Strategic Group for Impact & Engagement to identify researchers and projects where support on impact will add most value. In particular, the post holder will play a crucial role in reviewing internal audits of existing and developing impact cases, and in the allocation of internal funding to support their further development.

You will have experience of research in the Higher Education sector and of external stakeholder engagement. You will have an excellent understanding of research impact (both in the context of the Research Excellence Framework and beyond), including the role of knowledge exchange, engagement with beneficiaries, monitoring and narrative reporting. We are seeking a confident, knowledgeable individual, as adept at supporting academic colleagues as engaging with external stakeholders.
