The Opportunity:

Following an internal review of Strategic Change, a new service model for the Strategic Change Service is now being implemented. The role holder will have the opportunity to support the shaping and continuous improvement of the service as it embeds the new approach, team structure and progresses to deliver on the service vision:

To be an expert team of professionals advising, coordinating, supporting and co-producing strategic initiatives and improvements in partnership with our colleges and services, and their constituent Schools and Departments. Driven by a commitment to deliver positive outcomes that benefit those who work, study and partner with the University.

The service will operate under a matrix management model with members of the service aligned to a capability team for their professional standards, development and line management, and deployed onto a strategic change programme/project for their strategic and operational delivery.  This has led to the creation of a number of new management roles including the Head of Programme and Project Management. This is a key role as it has a responsibility for the service standards and ongoing continuous improvement regarding Programme and Project Management.

The new service model also includes the implementation of new capability frameworks for Programme and Project Management, Change Management and Business Analysis. The role holder will line manage the Programme and Project Managers in the service. Reporting to the Head of the Portfolio Management Office, this role forms part of the service management team providing the opportunity to contribute both operationally and strategically.
