Are you an experienced administrator looking for a new challenge ? if so, this role may be ideal 

Working as part of the Student Services Resourcing team the post holder will focus on the delivery of two vital services provided by the directorate: 

  • The administration of various student funds including the Access to Learning Fund that has an annual budget of 0.5 million and the Emergency Hardship Fund.
  • Ensuring that all allowable costs are recovered from Student Finance England for Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA).

The postholder will work under the supervision of the Student Services and Resourcing Manager and will collaborate with colleagues in the Student Services Resourcing team and across the Directorate to deliver vital services detailed above. The post holder will also be required to provide advice and support on the purchase order system, expenses claim and ensuring purchases made are within the University’s financial policies

As a Finance and Resourcing Administrator you can expect to be involved in :  

  • Administering the Hardship Funds, including checking the validity of applications and ensuring all relevant documentation has been received.
  • Requesting further information from students as required via the Blackbullion system.
  • Reconciling the Emergency Hardship Fund and the Access to Learning Fund monthly.
  • Arranging for payments to be made to students across a range of funds and bursaries.
  • Raising invoices for DSA funding to cover the costs of support provided by the University’s specialist staff

What you will bring to the role : 

  • GCSE English and Maths (grade C/4 or above) or equivalent 
  • Foundation level financial qualification (e.g. AAT) and actively studying towards full qualification, or willingness to undertake such studies; or equivalent 
  • Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office packages and a good understanding of databases and spreadsheets 
  • Experience of answering enquiries, particularly of a financial nature
