The School of Engineering has a vacancy for a Specialist Mechanical Technician based in the Mechanical department. Providing professional technical support to the department and to carry out precision machining on a range of equipment including manual and Computer Numerical Control machines. Working as a member of the mechanical and manufacturing technical team, you will also be responsible for tool making and manufacture of parts and equipment in support of the school’s research and teaching activities. Additionally, the role will involve supporting teaching and other student activities within the mechanical and manufacturing engineering workshops as well as providing comprehensive technical support to the school.
This post is full time 35 hours per week and is available immediately and is open-ended.
Salary: £33,232 - £35,880 per annum (Grade 5). It is not anticipated that appointment will be made above point 25 - £33,232 per annum.
