The Department of Geography at the University of Lincoln seeks to appoint a Lecturer in Human Geography on a Teaching and Research role profile. You will join a research active department focused around three main research groups: Climate Change; Catchments & Coasts; and Development, Inequality, Resilience & Environments (DIRE). The team works with colleagues across the university, the wider sector and with industry beyond academia. Working with us will provide a stimulating, interdisciplinary and collegiate environment in the heart of a thriving, safe and friendly city and bustling campus. We support excellence in research and teaching, and you will be part of a team that provides a portfolio of qualifications at BA, BSc, MSc and PhD level.

You will have a strong academic profile related to political ecology, feminist / gender geographies, and/or sustainable development and resource management. You will also have a track record in securing external research funding and publishing in high quality peer-reviewed academic journals commensurate with career stage.

In this post you will engage in theoretical and/or applied research which will complement existing strengths within the department. The successful candidate would be expected to join one of the existing research groups within the department.

We would particularly welcome candidates with an established or emerging background in Political Ecology, especially those oriented toward feminist theories and approaches within this field. All candidates should be excellent communicators who will complement the department’s existing teaching, and we particularly encourage candidates who could support teaching across the wider BA and BSc Geography curricula, as well as these areas of specialist expertise. Geography is a hands on discipline and you will be expected to contribute to both UK and overseas field trips.
